Ski Amadé

From beginners to advanced skiers or free style skiers.

It all started in 1963 with the construction of a chairlift. Now it’s one of Europe’s most modern ski areas. There are several international awards to prove this. Modern ski lift systems and a safe ride in the gondola high up to the mountain peak make Flachau an ideal ski area for the smallest and youngest amongst us. Numerous blue slopes and practice slopes ensure a great skiing holiday for families until early Spring. Flachau is part of Salzburger Sportwelt and located in the centre of the largest Austrian Ski Association of Ski Amadé. Only one ski pass gives you access to 270 lifts and allows you to enjoy 865 km of snow safe slopes as well as use of the ski bus service.

Modern ski lift systems and a safe ride in the gondola high up to the mountain peak make Flachau an ideal ski area for the smallest and youngest amongst us. Numerous blue slopes and practice slopes ensure a great skiing holiday for families until early Spring. The ski lift in Flachauwinkl and the ski area Zauchensee – connected by “Zauchi”- offer excellent slopes for advanced skiers and snowboarders.
The winter sport park at the Absolutpark is perfect for freestyle skiers and snowboarders. This is where several contests such as JIB King & the Quiksilver Spring Battle take place. Deep powder snow fans and creative freestylers can enjoy themselves in Burton Stashpark. However, don’t expect perfectly prepared slopes and well shaped obstacles! The handmade figures and obstacles are made by American chain saw artist Bob King and follow the theme- “the woods are the goods”.

The above mentioned ski areas are part of Salzburger Sportwelt and located in the centre of the largest Austrian Ski Association of Ski Amadé. Only one ski pass gives you access to 270 lifts and allows you to enjoy 865 km of snow safe slopes as well as use of the ski bus service.

A tip for all smart phone users is the “Ski Amadé Guide” app. The app is a ski navigation system which also takes the ability of the skier in account. It chooses a route using this information as well as the fitness level and preferences of the user.  It also offers descriptions and recommendations of the different huts available and you can review your ski route on it. 250 free WIFI spots were installed in lift stations and huts so that it is easy to use this app without extortionate roaming costs. In addition, you can also upload your pictures on Facebook or send an e-mail to friends - for free!

For those who prefer leave their phones at home - don’t worry, you can also get some pictures taken to remind you of your trip. There are numerous web-photo points: just pose, smile, click and you’re done! Log on to www.flachau.at to check out your pictures and send an e-card to your friends.
